Nature is the best example of a circular economy. In nature, everything is reused in the cycle of life. Generating zero waste.

Heroes of the Planet is a local model of circular economy that recycles plastic waste discarded from artisanal fishing. By transforming ocean plastic waste into recycled raw material and products, our model creates value for the community, the economy and the planet.

Our work grows on the intersection of education and the circular economy.

Following the purpose of protecting the planet and its resources, the circular economy is a new model of production and consumption. The main goal is to improve the performance of materials in circulation. Recycling allows us to reuse materials to the maximum in order to reduce waste to a minimum.

We aim to generate efficiency in order to reduce the plastic flow into the ocean. Our work contributes to the sustainable development of the local economy. All of our recycling process is local and takes place in Lima, Peru.

It’s necessary to change the way we think about pollution. Its not an externality. Waste is a design flaw that can be fixed. We use education to mobilize the community towards ocean conservation.

We apply the circular economy to reduce ocean plastic pollution. We apply behavioral design to keep our material in use through objects that precipitate responsible behavior towards the planet.
